Why Sindri?

In Norse mythology, Sindri was a master dwarven blacksmith who, alongside his brother,
forged legendary artifacts for the gods, including Thor's mighty hammer, Mjölnir, and Odin's golden ring, Draupnir.

His work was defined by quality, precision, and a refusal to cut corners.

Sindri PDF takes its name from this master craftsman. It was built with a similar philosophy: to be a solid, robust, and reliable tool that simply does what it needs to do. No bloat, no distractions, just a well-crafted utility for your Mac.

About the Developer

Hi, I'm Jonas Bratschi, a Data Science bachelor's student at the ZHAW School of Engineering in Zurich, Switzerland.

When I switched to Mac, I struggled to find a PDF viewer that felt right. Everything was either a complex, expensive tool or bloated software pushing subscriptions. I just wanted something simple, fast, and native.

Inspired by Peter Steinberger's philosophy on autonomous development with OpenClaw, I decided to "prompt engineer it into existence." That's how Sindri PDF was born—a clean, distraction-free tool made for macOS. If it makes your workflow a little easier, I'd really appreciate your support!
